Dancing With the Twin Cities Celebrities
If you’re in town and wondering what to do on Friday evening, February 22nd, why not come watch me cut the rug with my partner Nandina Snow? You’ll be wined, dined, entertained and can dance in a ballroom of glamour and festivity! It’s the 2013 Dancing With The Twin Cities Celebrities, and it looks like I’m one of the competitors.
Here’s how it works. 6 Twin Cities personalities each choose a charity, a song, a dance style and compete to win. But the glory is, no one really loses. No one loses when money is raised for charity. My Charity is Avenues for Homeless Youth in Minneapolis. I’ve always felt a special connection to young people who have little choice when ending up on the streets. I was close to being there myself.
You can donate to my charity by purchasing a ticket to the even here. One hundred percent of your tax deductible $45.00 donation will go directly to Avenues. You can buy as many tickets as you wish, without having to attend. But of course, it would be nice to see you there to cheer us on!
Corporate VIP tables of 10 are still available for $2,000.00. $150.00 gets you in for dinner, the silent and live auction and general schmoozing. A great warm up for a nice evening of dancing.
Here is a video of Nandina and I attempting to put an act together. I’ve chosen the Lindy Hop and we’re Dancing to the Swing Cat’s version of Diamond’s are a Girl’s Best Friend, with Marylyn Monroe singing, of course.
I thought I could dance until we started putting it together. I am completely humbled, a little nervous but mostly excited to use what powers I’ve been given to help others in need. Please help me raise money to help the nearly 2,500 homeless youth between 16 and 21 on any given night in Minnesota. With your help we can give these kids a place to regroup and build some confidence to tackle their future. Make a contribution with your ticket purchase today!
