In 1990, at the age of 26, Christopher Hopkins opened Christopher Hopkins Salon at the KSTP television studios in Minneapolis and St. Paul, where he and his team were responsible for the looks of the on-air talent. As a regular guest expert on the popular daytime talk show "Good Company."
In 1994, he built a new salon and spa at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Minneapolis renamed Christopher Hopkins Image Center (CHIC). In 1999, the company was renamed reVamp! salonspa and a new 6,000 square foot salonspa was built in Uptown Minneapolis in 2000.
As a baritone vocal soloist, he performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, a PBS televised performance with the Erie Philharmonic the Grand Teton Music Festival, and the Hannover Radio Philharmonic in Germany. In addition, he produced two vocal albums, "I'll Be Seeing You," in 1999, which was nominated for the GLAM Awards in New York City, and “Christopher Hopkins In Concert,” in 2021.
Hopkins authored the book Staging Your Comeback: A Complete Beauty Revival for Women Over 45, which has remained in the top 10 books in its category on Amazon since.
In 2009 Christopher created his internet series entitled “Whadja Do Today?” followed by a new series of makeover videos in June 2010/ Originally entitled “The Makeover Guy Reveals", the series was renamed to The Power of Pretty® brand makeovers in 2013.
In 2017, Christopher and his husband, Robert Lindquist, left reVamp! to open "MAKEOVERGUY Appearance Studios" on the Mississippi Riverfront in Minneapolis focusing on online content and an exclusive "The Power of Pretty" three-day personal transformation experience.
